I am a registered BACP counsellor/ psychotherapist.
I am passionate about helping people in their struggles and feel my strength lies in connection with others. I work in an integrative way, using techniques from Person-Centred, Gestault and Transactional Analysis theories while maintaining a core Psychodynamic framework.
I strive to be relatable, so if you are interested in theory, I will explain but equally, if that's not your thing, I will speak plainly. I love to use creative ideas if people find just talking too difficult or things are 'stuck'. I adapt to your personality and needs.
I have a background in teaching where I worked with a diverse range of people and learnt a lot about neurodiversity, family issues/ relationships, work related stresses, the effects of bullying, the pressure of our education system etc.
This has certainly helped in my counsellor work understanding people and some of the experiences they describe.
I also have over a years experience counselling for the Charity Inspire.
I adhere to BACP's ethical framework and have regular Supervision, personal therapy and ongoing CPD to continual grow my skills and knowledge.
